Originated in Japan during the XVI century to fire the tea ceremony pieces, rakú is a surprising and unpredictable firing process. The pieces are taken out red hot from the kiln, to undergo a very fast reduction and cooling process. Of an experimental character, it’s a game where the natural elements – earth, air, water, fire and wood – are summoned to create the ceramic piece.
Each participant will decorate, glaze and fire two ceramic pieces, which can be taken home after the session.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Clay hand-building workshops in the garden, just besides the Gala Dalí Museum, where families and friends can share a private space of creativity. Guided step by step session: you will end up creating and decorating a ceramic piece for daily use.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
NOTE The pieces will be left to dry, fire and glaze at Caterina Roma’s studio. They’ll be ready to pick up three weeks later in Púbol or Barcelona. We can also send them by courier.
Sessions conceived as an awakening of inspiration and artistic gaze through simple ceramic techniques and great creative power. Get your hands dirty, decorate, glaze, bake and awaken your creativity in this unique setting in the gardens of Ca l’Humà, one of Púbol’s emblematic farmhouses.
